About Saint-Germain-des-Prés district

If you see an old cobblestone square with a tiny church, creamy tents of beautiful literary café decorated with flowers, the waiters in black and white uniforme, elegantly dressed people sitting on terraces in rows, as at the theater, sipping their coffee, reading, writing or having a chat – you are in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the district of intellectuals par excellence. Everyone wants to come to the cafés where Guillaume Appolinaire wrote “Under the bridge Mirabeau flows the Seine and our love”, where Coco Chanel dined with Serge Lifar. Stunning carved doors, silver knockers in the shape of a lions head, publishing houses, poetry on the walls, a belfry of the 11th century, a sculpture by Ossip Zadkine… Here Picasso painted “Guernica” in his workshop, there a plaque “Here was located Tabou” reminds of crazy jazz parties in cellars in fifties.

I am a foodie and have been living in Paris for 13 years now. I will be happy to show you my favourite places where we will savour most delicious food.
